The original Victorian pagoda was demolished in the 1950s and was restored with Heritage Lottery funding in 2011. A new bridge was built to architect James Pennethorne's original designs.
The island sits in the West Boating Lake. It is accessible from Crown Gate West, Royal Gate West, and Bonner Gate. There is no vehicle access onto the island, though you may unload nearby. There are access restrictions on the bridge. Only limited infrastructure can be carried onto the island.
The Chinese Pagoda is one of the park’s most iconic landmarks. Set on a peaceful island in an ornamental lake, it is an oasis of calm. The surroundings provide a stunning backdrop for your event.
Linked to the park by two bridges, it is perfect for intimate events. The pagoda can be hired for your exclusive use. It is suitable for small blessing ceremonies, as well as corporate parties and promotional activities.
